This is a video taken at the 2011 Jimmy Green Memorial Spey-O-Rama, at the Golden Gate Casting Club in San Fracisco. This event is attended by competitiors from all over the world and considered the world championship of Spey Casting by many. The competitors are required to stand in water about 30 inches deep and make casts frrom both shoulders. All casts require an angle change of 45 degrees. And, just to make things interesting, there is a barrier set up behind the caster, though it doesn't seem to come into play.
I mentored and coached George and his brother Dusty for about 5 years from the ages of 12 and 11 respectively. They both became ACA Junior National Casting Champions before the age of 18. George went on the become the youngest ever FFF Master Casting Instructor at the age of 21.
